Marriott International has opened a new and noteworthy boutique property focused on wine and wellness in the outskirts of Pune. A slightly unusual combination, but interesting nonetheless.
The hotel is situated within a 66-acre working winery, and it falls under Marriott’s Design Hotels portfolio.
The property is essentially associated with Vijay Mallya.
When UB Group set up the Four Seasons Winery years ago, the idea was reportedly inspired by Mallya’s desire to recreate the experience of sipping wine in Bordeaux, France.
That vision seems to have carried forward into this hotel.
Looking at the photos, one could easily mistake it for a European countryside property, I would say somewhere in Spain. Overall, it looks quite impressive.
I also had a quick call with the hotel to understand the elite benefits for Platinum and above members, and here is what I found:
Breakfast is offered on points redemptions (Design hotels usually don’t)
No hi-tea or happy hour benefits
Most activities such as wine tours, tastings, and yoga sessions are chargeable
Marriott points redemptions have been open since last week, and I can currently see availability starting as low as 20,000 points per night. For example, January 2026 shows some dates at this level.

However, it is important to note that from April onwards, the minimum redemption requirement goes up to 30,000 points, except for a few scattered dates.
Based on my past experience, rates may dip slightly during the off season, possibly touching 20,000 points for limited periods.
That said, it is unlikely we will see 20,000 point redemptions during January or February in the future, as these are typically peak months due to Pune’s pleasant climate.
So, if you are planning a redemption stay, this could be a good time to explore Hotel Irada Pune. Visit Marriott website for more details.
