Why Learn From Me
I’ve been selling on Vinted for years and I use it almost daily. I’ve completed over six hundred transactions and made more than £10,000 on Vinted – both selling my own unwanted items as well as buying items to resell. I constantly test different strategies, try new features and find out what really works so you don’t have to waste your time guessing. Everything here comes from real experience on the app and from helping thousands of people get started with selling.
Get My Vinted Planner on Amazon
If you want to stay consistent with selling on Vinted, my Vinted planner is a really useful tool to have on hand. I originally created it to help me stay focused on my own listings and earnings, and it has made a huge difference to how quickly I hit my goals. The planner helps you keep track of the items you list, the offers you send, your postage costs, your earnings, your bundle discounts and all the little habits that add up to more sales.
It is especially helpful if you want to treat Vinted as a side hustle rather than a one-off clear-out. When you can see your progress on paper, it’s much easier to stay motivated and keep building on it.
You can get the Vinted planner on Amazon, and it’s designed to be simple to use whether you’re brand new to selling or already listing regularly.
Start Here
If you are brand new to Vinted, these three things will help you get going quickly and help you to make money on Vinted:
• Choose your username
• Set up your profile
• Take your first photos
Once you’ve done those, you are ready to start listing.
Where you see buttons throughout this hub, they will take you to more in-depth guides so you can dive deeper whenever you need to.
Contents
Step 1: Choose Your Username
Your username helps build trust before a buyer has even viewed your items. Choose something clear, simple and memorable. If you’re stuck, use a generator to help you come up with ideas that fit your personality and the sort of items you sell.
Step 2: Set Up Your Profile
Your profile photo, short bio and settings help buyers feel comfortable buying from you. Add a friendly photo, write a simple sentence or two about what you sell and turn on the postage options you want to offer. If you plan to sell bundles, switch on bundle discounts here too.
Step 3: Take Great Photos
Photos make a huge difference to your sales. Use natural light, avoid harsh shadows and take multiple angles. Show the full item, close-ups of details and any flaws. If you are listing lots of items, batch your photography so you have plenty of photos ready to go.
Step 4: Write Strong Descriptions
Titles work best when they are simple and clear. Something like “Grey Next Jumper Size 12” is perfect.
In the description include:
• Colour
• Fabric
• Fit and stretch
• Measurements
• Condition
• Any flaws
Buyers appreciate honesty and it reduces the chance of problems later.
Step 5: What to Sell First
If you are just getting started, choose items that are easy to photograph, describe and post. Popular and beginner-friendly categories include women’s clothing, kids’ clothing, branded items, shoes, beauty products (new and sealed), books and simple home items. These sell fast, are easy to list and are perfect for building quick confidence with your first few sales.
Step 6: Understand Postage on Vinted
Vinted is set up so the buyer pays the postage. You will either receive a label to print, a QR code to scan at a drop-off point or a Royal Mail option where you pay upfront and get reimbursed once the sale is completed. Make sure you choose the right package size when listing because this affects what the buyer pays.
Step 7: Set the Right Price
Pricing on Vinted should feel simple. Start by checking what similar items are currently listed for rather than relying on the sold price suggestions. Leave a little room for offers and remember that buyers love a bargain. A fair price usually leads to quicker sales.
Step 8: Is Selling on Vinted Worth It in 2026
For most people, yes. It is fast, easy and completely free to use as a seller. You can list an item in under a minute and start making money without fees. I’ve made over £10,000 just from selling unwanted items, so if you stay active and price fairly, it is absolutely worth it.
Step 9: List Your Items
Once your photos and details are ready, tap Sell in the app.
• Add your photos
• Write your title
• Describe the item
• Choose your category
• Select the brand
• Pick the size
• Choose the condition
• Select the colours
• Set a price
• Choose your postage size
Upload it and your listing is live.
Step 10: Send Offers and Negotiate
When someone favourites your item you can send them a small discount. Even £1 off helps secure a sale. If you receive an offer you can ignore it, accept it, reject it or counter with a better price for you. Offers do not mean the item is sold until the buyer actually pays, so don’t worry if someone accepts an offer but doesn’t follow through.
Step 11: Handle Sales and Post Items
When the item sells, package it securely and use the postage method chosen by the buyer. If you are given a QR code, take it to the locker or shop and scan it. If it is a Royal Mail option, pay in the Post Office and Vinted will credit you once the item is confirmed as delivered. When the buyer marks it as received, your money becomes available to withdraw. Having a small Vinted drawer or tub with mailing bags, tape and labels ready also makes posting much quicker.
Step 12: Boost Visibility and Sell Faster
A few habits can really increase your sales.
• List items in the evening when people are browsing
• Relist older items instead of paying for bumps
• Stay active on the app
• Turn on bundle discounts
• Send small offers to favourited items
• Keep your descriptions and titles clear
Small changes like these help your items appear more often.
If you only do three things to boost your Vinted sales, make them these:
List new items regularlyRelist your slow itemsSend offers every evening to people who have favourited your listings
These three habits alone can make a noticeable difference to your sales.
Step 13: Understand the Vinted Algorithm
Vinted prioritises fresh listings, active sellers and clear photos. Extra things that help include using simple keywords in your title, sending offers regularly, having recent activity on your profile and uploading new items a few times per week. You don’t need to post constantly, but consistency does help.
Step 14: Avoid Scams
Keep all messages within the app, only ship using the postage options provided and never accept payment outside of Vinted. If a buyer raises a dispute unfairly, respond calmly and upload your evidence. Most issues are resolved quickly when everything is kept within the app.
Step 15: Taxes and Vinted
Most casual sellers won’t need to worry about tax, but some situations may fall into taxable income. Keep a simple record of what you sell if you are selling regularly or sourcing items to resell. If you ever feel unsure, check HMRC’s guidelines.
Step 16: Solve Common Problems
Sometimes little things go wrong and most of them are easy to fix. Labels might not load, tracking might be slow, buyers might not confirm receipt or an item might sit pending for longer than expected. There are clear ways to fix these issues and you can raise a support ticket if needed.
Step 17: Delivery Problems and Parcel Issues
Missing parcels, wrong items in lockers, damaged items and courier delays happen occasionally. If you run into any of these, upload your proof, message the buyer through the app and follow the guidance for the postage option used. Always act within the timeframe shown in the app and upload photos straight away. The quicker you respond, the easier it is for Vinted to resolve parcel issues in your favour.
Step 18: How to Relist on Vinted
Relisting helps you get fresh eyes on your items. Avoid copying and pasting old listings. Instead, change the title slightly, update or crop your photos or rewrite the description. This keeps your listing fresh in Vinted’s system.
Step 19: How to Sell on Vinted Without a Printer
If you do not have a printer, choose postage options that use QR codes. These allow you to drop parcels off without printing anything. Locker and parcel shop options usually offer QR codes and make posting very simple.
Step 20: Where to Get Stock for Vinted
If you want to take selling more seriously, you can source stock from charity shops, car boot sales, clearance rails, Facebook Marketplace and more. Look for good brands in great condition and items that photograph well.
Step 21: How to Crosslist Your Items
Crosslisting helps you reach more buyers. You can upload your items to both Vinted and eBay or Depop to increase your chances of making a sale. Some sellers use tools to save time, but you can also do it manually if you prefer.
Step 22: Vinted Wallet and Withdrawal Time
When a sale is completed, the money appears as pending until the buyer confirms everything is fine. Once it becomes available, you can withdraw it to your bank. You can also spend your Vinted balance on the app if you prefer. Royal Mail reimbursements appear once the sale clears.
Step 23: Vinted Pro
Vinted Pro is designed for people who want to scale their selling. It offers extra features, different rules and more flexibility for those selling business stock. Most beginners don’t need it, but it is useful to understand how it works if you want to grow long term.
Step 24: Vinted UK Alternatives
Some items sell better elsewhere. eBay, Depop and Facebook Marketplace can be good options depending on the type of item you have. Using a mix of platforms can help you maximise your sales.
