U.S. Bank has announced that it will be ending the U.S. Bank Smartly Checking Deals (or U.S. Bank Smartly Shopping Deals) program on January 31, 2026. Account holders are informed on their latest statement (or next statement) that the program will be terminated.
Important Change: The Shopping Deals program will be discontinued effective January 31, 2026
Dear [name],
The Shopping Deals program will be closing soon, and the last day to shop and earn rewards through this program is January 31, 2026.
What’s next?
Your other card benefits remain unchanged, so you can continue enjoying all the benefits and rewards you already have.
We truly appreciate your participation, and we hope you’ve enjoyed the savings and rewards along the way.
We look forward to continuing to be part of your shopping experience.
These deals normally offered 10-20% back on popular categories. U.S. Bank also announced the end of 100 free trades benefit from February 2026 and negative changes for the Altitude went into effect today. Seems like some obvious cost cutting going on here, or maybe the smartly products just aren’t getting the uptake they were hoping for.
